PGGM-Brasil (Marine Geology and Geophysics Program)

PGGM-Brasil (Marine Geology and Geophysics Program) is an academic network created in 1969 in collaboration with the Navy Hydrographic Office, Brazilian Geological Survey (CPRM), Petrobrás-BR and National Department for Mineral Resources (DNPM-ANM) to develop scientific knowledge of the Brazilian Continental margin and adjacent ocean basin, to form human resources in marine geology and geophysics and to support government decision and policy makers in themes related to ocean floor exploration.

PGGM intends to contribute to Seabed 2030 by ensuring that gaps in South and Equatorial Atlantic are mapped, and by increasing our knowledge about seafloor processes and evolution.
